Univitech C159 rugged notebook for the EMR detection system

Challenge:

With the development of science and technology, information technology and high-tech information technology are widely applied in modern military. The military used to use the desktop and signal detector to detect radar signal frequency function, which was not conducive to users' movement and multi-area signal detection.

A research institute developed a small-size function card which can realize the detection of signal frequency, which greatly reduced the volume of detector. The function card needs to be powered by 15V voltage, the maximum current is about 3A, and the power consumption is about 20W. How to install this card in a compact rugged notebook ? And ensure the installation of the function card layout is reasonable and stable, so that various signal frequencies can be detected when the radar station works.

Solution:

The Xingtac rugged notebook supports to option an expansion unit, customer can install the function card in the expansion unit. The size of C156 is only 410*290*119mm and the weight is 8.6kg after the installation of the expansion unit, which is perfect for carrying around on a mission. The expansion units has standard PCI or PCI-E interfaces, customer can install the PCI/PCI-E function cards, and with sufficient space, customer can also install some other functional modules.

The military often require field operation which needs long battery life. The C156 can provide second battery to increase the battery life and ensure the uninterrupted signal monitoring throughout the day. We can also provide customization services, the customer needs to provide 15V voltage, 3A current and 20V power for the detection signal frequency function board , a RJ45 LAN port for communication, the power supply of function board card in the extension dock should also be controlled. So the power interface is reserved for customers in the docking station, and customized a 15V power interface to ensures that the starting current in the docking station is about 3A to ensure the safe and stable operation of the customer's functional modules. The RJ45 interface is added in the unit, and a separate controlled boat switch is added to facilitate the control of the power supply.

Advantage:

C156 is fully rugged computer with an extension dock, with enough space size to expand various functional modules, which solves the customer's problem that the function card is too large to be installed together with ordinary equipment. The detection of radar signals can be realized by connecting a portable laptop with other detection equipment. The long time battery life , resist the harsh working environment, which helps to improve work efficiency , it can timely and accurately detect the signal frequency, transmit to the equipment in real time.
